Moving More
I am aiming to move more this week. A couple of weeks ago whilst wearing the pedometer I noticed that I was only managing 500 steps a day as my mobility is so restricted. It is my aim to get up and walk to the kitchen / bedroom a little more if I possibly can. Obviously the more I move means the more I might be able to move in the future.

So this week I am aiming for 500 a day (shameful I know - and I hate admitting it is so little)

Steps taken
1021 - not a true reading as it registered at least 100 while sat in car

Week 2/ Day 1

Week One Review
WEIGHT LOSS THIS WEEK
2lb off this week

POSITIVES

  • I ate breakfast every day- it might not have been the traditional breakfast of cereal but I ate something every day
  • I stuck to the plan 100%
  • My favourite meal had to be Salmon Salad - for someone who hates salad i think this says a lot as I can still have my favourite ready to eat salmon with a sweet chilli coating
STRUGGLES
  • Some days I have struggled to eat all my pp each day
  • also tracking has confused me as when I track in my journal then put it into the e-source they haven't tallied e.g. WW mini rolls are 2 each but if I have 2 at different parts of the day it looks as if I had 2 together and then the points are 5pp and not 4pp as my journal shows.
PRIORITIES FOR THE WEEK
  • continue to eat breakfast
  • wear my pedometer each day - even though I know I will not reach more than 500 a day due to my mobility problems due to the weight I carry
  • have at least 2 filling and healthy day
  • LOSE 2lb at weigh in
Thoughts on the week
I lost 2lb at weigh in. I am happy with this and also not. I know, as it is my first week, I could have lost more but as I move so little I know this was hooping so really happy with the 2lb off Onwards and upwards - 2lb a week could mean 2 stone off by Christmas.

We decided to have lunch out on the way home from weigh in. I had already checked to see if the place we were going to was listed in EAT OUT book and it was. I struggled to point it in the sense that I had no idea how much the 100g mentioned in the book related to what I had put on my plate. I choose not ot have a Yorkshire Pudding (9pp) or any potatoes so I could have more vegetables. However, if I had had the three courses I had been planning on - starter (prawn cocktail - 13pp) / pudding (sundae - 18pp) - it could have been a lot of damage.

WISE CHOICES meant I enjoyed a meal out and no damage to my weekly weight loss hopefully on the scales net Saturday

All I can say is today was hard. Due to certain things going wrong we ended up with unplanned for fish and chips. Whilst I don't mind the 30 pp for them I would prefer to have them when I have allowed for them and planned lots of low points meals for the rest of the day unlike today. I had planned for a salad at tea but due to eating late (after 7.30pm) didn't really fancy too much so ended up with a sandwich.

Today has been a good day but a hungry day and very much a struggle to think what to eat. Everything we came up with from the cupboard was high in points and I wasn't prepared to waste points on them. So I ended up with what I have eaten today. I struggled to eat all my points even though I have had lots to eat so I had a glass of orange juice when DH came home just to use a few more points up.

Today has been a good day for me. We sort out my Mum on a Sunday and we always have a MacDonald's on. Before we went I looked up point values and decided that I didn't want to waste 39 point on my usual Big Mac (13pp) / chips (13pp) / Vanilla shake (13pp). I had a smoothie for 6pp and felt really good as don't really want the MacD's every week but Mum isn't happy if I don't have one with her. Because I am trying to lose weight she is okay with it.

On getting home the sandwich had more in it than I wanted to use but it was much better than having the MacD's and was really filling. Tea was soup we had in and I resisted the four slices of bread and marg I would probably have had normally (can't think why I am so fat can you!!!!)

Another good day.

Today I started at WW. We travelled almost an hour to get to the class but I need to attend weekly so Saturday morning is the day to go.

Having decided to go to SW and ending up at WW means that we have no shopping in as such so on the way home we called at Mr T's in Gainsborough to get something in for lunch as between WW and T's Healthy Living range which has points on the products then it made it easier to cope with. Not going to be able to shop properly until next weekend but being on points means I should be able to cope so long as each day is planned well.

I checked in the shopping book for the best ready meal from Mr C. I found that my usual beef in black bean sauce was 10pp (or so I thought) note to self don't speed read the small writing in the book - it was chicken in black bean sauce that was 10pp mine was actually 17pp. More than I would want to spend on a ready meal but as I say this week it will be a case of make do and mend with the best we can get to - next week my freezer will be full of WW meals and veg.

Onwards and upwards is the battle cry

Oh Dear

I have rather neglected this blog again. Part of  me isn't too bothered as I do it for me and I doubt anyone reads it But then part of me wants to keep it up to date. Also once again I am only blogging because I have gone back to Slimming class again.

Last week it came home to me what I am doing to myself. I went to see Mum and really struggled to get from the car to her flat. This scared me as if I can't get to her what will happen. It will fall on Gary and he does enough as it is.

SO I debated all last week about whether to go back to class or not - knowing the answer is no I didn't want to but also knowing I can't do it without going back. On Friday night after spending all week trying to decide on SW or WW I was still not sure where I would end up.

There are pros and cons for both plans. I also need to get weighed weekly having failed miserably to do it online with WW and fortnightly with SW (class). So the one criteria that was set in stone was it had to be a Saturday class. This meant WW in Scunthorpe (about 15 mins drive) or SW in Doncaster (about 50 mins). My darling DH said he didn't mind which. The more I thought about it I decided I wanted to go to WW but knew I didn't want to go back to the Scunthorpe one. The leader is lovely but when I was a childminder she worked for the LA and so knew me too well. Also it would feel like returning like a bad penny. So that meant SW at Doncaster then DH suggested seeing if there was a WW on a Saturday and the answer was yes.

So Saturday morning saw us setting off for Doncaster to start WW. WOW what a lovely friendly class. Everyone made me feel so welcome. I cam out feeling positive and hopefully set for a good week.
